A very rare and seldom seen large medieval period personal lead seal matrix.
This item which dates to circa 13th-14th Century AD, is in excellent allover condition.
Used by a merchant or land owner to stamp a document with wax and his own personal seal.
It would have been used as proof of ownership and possession.
With a fleur de lys symbol to the centre and written legend to the edge.
Original suspension loop to the edge.
Ex. Nottinghamshire collection from the 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
