The muslin is exceptionally fine and gossamer sheer, like tissue gauze. This high quality fabric, referred to by the French as Mousseline des Indes and described as “a cotton textile so fine as to be almost invisible”, was very popular with the affluent and elite society of the decadent Belle Epoque era, for both clothing and soft furnishings.
This is a stunning period panel it does have some wear some fading and some pinpricks small holes some rust spots so ideal cutter or prop...repairs mends required... ideal for reworking or repair
