Making a Purchase - Payments
We use the secure payment provider WorldPay to process all online payments so we at The Antiques Centre York have no access to your card details. WorldPay has a ‘Capture Delay’ service, which means that once your payment is authorised, funds are reserved by your card issuer for up to one week until we manually confirm with WorldPay that we would like to capture and settle the payment, allowing us time to stock check your order. If your order is not in stock we will instruct WorldPay to cancel your payment and your funds will be released back to you.
We are unable to process your order until your payment has been authorised by WorldPay. By submitting your order, you are offering to buy the goods, and allowing us to use your personal details for the purposes of supplying those goods (including passing your personal details onto couriers and other subcontractors). Personal details can be removed from our system by written request or by emailing us.
Customers are responsible for the suitability of the goods they are purchasing. If any product supplied is not used for its intended purpose, subjected to abuse or unreasonable usage the returns policy will be void.
You may cancel any order before it has been shipped. Once your order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled - our returns policy will then come into affect (see below).
Please remember all orders are subject to availability. Our terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
Shipping and Handling – Shipping Charges
Charges will be automatically calculated on our website for online orders. We use Royal Mail or Parcelforce to ship all orders and a small charge is also added towards packaging (boxes, bubblewrap, ect). If you would like to know more about how the postage costs are calculated, please contact us.
If your order is returned to us undelivered due to your own fault you will be responsible for re-shipping charges. In the unlikely event that your goods do not arrive please call or e-mail us. Our orders are shipped and handled by third party couriers, therefore all delivery dates and times given are only estimates. We endeavour to get your order to you within the estimated delivery time, however, on rare occasions the delivery may be delayed. We therefore cannot be held responsible for delays by the courier / postal service or for any consequential losses you may suffer if the delivery is not on time for whatever reason. Orders being shipped to remote locations may, on rare occasions, be slightly delayed by the courier / postal service.
Tax Charges - Import Duty & Taxes
It is your responsibility as the customer to pay all applicable customs fees and taxes for your country.
Items will be described as accurately as possible. Please remember that antique, vintage and pre-owned items will show signs of use. Any major flaws such as chips, cracks and restoration will be noted in the description. A more detailed explanation of products can be obtained by contacting us.
We reserve the right to amend any prices shown on the website without prior notice.

You have the right to return your item within 7 working days from the day after you receive it. Products returned for refund must be in the condition they were in when they were delivered and in their original packaging. Where goods have been damaged in transit you should notify us of this fact within 7 working days. Our Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
We may refuse to take your orders if we feel you have been false in your information. We reserve the right to amend our terms and conditions at any time without prior notification. We do not distribute customer details or e-mail addresses to third parties. Marketing e-mails are only sent to consenting mailing list subscribers and your details can be removed at any time. The views and opinions of theantiquescentreyork.co.uk are not to be taken necessarily as fact. Any contract between us and you shall be governed by English law and the courts ofEnglandandWalesshall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over the dispute. All dealings, correspondence and contracts between us shall be made or conducted in the English language. There is no contract between you and theantiquescentreyork.co.uk for the sale of any product from us to you unless your order has been dispatched and confirmation of this is sent by email. The acceptance will be deemed complete at the time we send the email, regardless of whether you receive the email or not.
Payment in full must be made at the point of order at the price as detailed on our website at the time of your order. In the event of any delay or refusal of payment we will immediately suspend the order and will have no obligation to fulfil your order.
