Do you buy items from the public?

We rent cabinets to professional dealers who source their stock privately, so we are unable to buy from the public.

 

Do you give valuations?

We do not have a valuation service at The Antiques Centre York.

 

I’m looking for a specific item.  Can you source it for me?

We have a no-obligation customer request service that you can find online here.  We’ll add your request to a list which will be sent out to all our dealers once a month.  We’ll contact you if we can find your item, for first refusal.  

 

Can you ship overseas?

Yes, depending on the item.  Precious metal or large heavy items may be restricted.  Contact the Centre for more information.

 

How do I rent a cabinet?

How do I purchase my item?

All major credit and debit cards accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Solo.  We also accept direct bank transfers, bank drafts and postal orders - contact us to arrange this.

 

Do you accept Paypal payments?

No, we do not have a Paypal service.

 

Is it safe to use my credit or debit card?

Yes, shopping online with The Antiques Centre York is safe.  Secure service software encrypts information to ensure all transactions are protected.

 

What is your returns policy?

You have the right to return your item within 7 working days from the day after you receive it at your own cost. Products returned for refund must be in the condition they were in when they were delivered and in their original packaging. If goods have been damaged in transit you should notify us straight away. Please retain your receipt as it is your proof of purchase. Our Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer and can be viewed in more detail here..

 

Can I cancel my order if I change my mind?

You may cancel your order before it has been shipped. Once your order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled. Our returns policy will then come into effect.

 

How do I know that my items are genuine?

Our dealers must comply with Trading Standards, therefore any description of an item must be known to be true.
