A fabulous and seldom seen medieval period mounted knights horse harness pendant.
This item which is made of bronze and still retains some of its original enamel inlay ,dates to circa 13th-15th century AD.
This item would have been attached to the horses head band and the design shown,in this case a cross, would have been the same symbol of heraldry as that on his shield.
A small section of the original gilding is still present and the base of the suspension loop as shown.
Lincolnshire excavations in the 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and display box.
